Iowa USA Wrestling

As many of you wrestling people know, FILA has changed the rules for Freestyle and Greco Roman effective immediately at the Senior level. With that being said, the grass roots level of USA Wrestling has not decided if this change will be immediate for the Kids, Cadet and Junior levels. This would include the upcoming Regionals, National Duals, and Nationals. Discussions are likely to take place this week and a decision be made public soon.

The requirements for Coaches to become a member of the IOWA/USA WRESTLING National Teams Staff haven’t changed from last year. The only difference is that all interested Coaches must fill out a Coaching application. The link is for the Coaching App is below.

Requirements for Coaches to be on IOWA/USA WRESTLING National Teams Staff:

1) Must have current USA Wrestling Coaches Card

2) Must have USA WRESTLING Bronze level or higher certification through the National Coaches Education Program

3) Must have USA Wrestling Officials Card – Compensation is available for officials

4) Officiate in 2 local tournaments – Must officiate the entire day to be compensated or to the satisfaction of the tournament director

5) Officiate in one of Iowa/USA Wrestling’s State events

6) Attend the National Team Camp to Help athletes prepare for National Competition

7) Turn in your Coaches Application
