OA-BCIG, Johnston, Waterloo and Iowa City set to host Super Regionals
The sectional assignments for 2012 have been revealed for the upcoming Kids Folkstyle season. This year's four Super Regional tournaments will all take place on Sunday, January 15th, 2012. OA-BCIG HS in Ida Grove will host Super Regional 1, Johnston HS will host Super Regional 2, McElroy Auditorium in Waterloo, IA will host Super Regional 3 and Iowa City West HS will host Super Regional 4. These four Super Regional tournaments will be used as qualifiers for the Iowa Youth Wrestling Super State Championships that will be held at the UNI Dome on January 28th-29th, 2012. Everyone who participates in a Super Regional will qualify to wrestle at Super State, however only the top 4 from each Regional will be seeded at State. You must preregister at Trackwrestling as the are NO WALK INS! You may change your weight if you fail to make weight at Regionals, but at State you must wrestle the weight you qualified for, no exceptions! PeeWee(2006-2007) aged wrestlers do not compete at the Super Regionals as they are not required to qualify for Super State.

Iowa/USA Wreslting and Kids Folkstyle Series sponsors, Sunflower Wrestling are pleased to announce the Tour of Iowa. There are five tournaments with each tournament having it own unique medal that interlocks with the other tournaments medals, much like a jigsaw puzzle. If a wrestler is able to compete in all five tournaments his medals when intelocked together will make up the state of Iowa, with the liknesses of Iowa Wrestling greats Tom Brands, Dan Gable, Frank Gotch and Bob Siddens. All wrestlers in Kindergarten through 8th Grade are welcome to participate in the Tour of Iowa. Please see the picture for a better example of the medal.
