Gutwrenching News

Hi All,

I’d like to keep you updated with some items of interest from USAW. I realize that only some may be relevant to your position but should help us all pull together in the right direction.

1. Fargo dates will correspond exactly with last years schedule. This years Dates are July 15th-22nd. My suggestion is to end camps on the 12th as Thursday the 14th will be our travel day for U16 Freestyle.

2. Membership numbers are trending upwards nearing an all-time best.

3: From Coach Mayabb : USGRIT Coaches and Reps,

My Brags:

Congratulations to Women’s Director, Charlotte Bailey, on her BRAVO award from Think Iowa City, in regards to all of her time, dedication, work and promotion to give girls in both Iowa City and through the state of Iowa an opportunity to participate in wrestling, resulting in the sanctioning by the IGHSAU. Well done Charlotte!

Thanks to Coach Wheelan for putting together the schedule, it looks good and provides our athletes with some good opportunities. We are still hopeful to get at least one tournament in NW Iowa and to finalize a document to send to all host sites.

Thanks to Coach Doherty for putting out timely information with some great graphics! We appreciate the communication with our membership regarding the opportunities available. Keep them coming!

Jeff Ziegler does it again! Another successful Iowa/USA Kids State Folkstyle Championships!  Our membership loves Jeff and his tournament. Many compliments on the new venue.  This year was my first trip to the tournament to volunteer, and I was amazed at all Jeff does. Your effort is appreciated!

Many of you have been working behind the scenes to keep us moving in the right direction- thank you all!

Best of luck to all of our high school coaches as you progress through "championship season."

Thanks,

Jason
